It's said that if you press and hold the button for your floor, and the close door button at the same time, and hold them for between 7 and 10 seconds, the elevator will bypass all other floors that may have been pressed. Obviously, this would come in really handy if you're in an elevator where some kid has pressed the buttons for all the floors, and you need to get to the 42nd floor wihtout stopping at every floor in between.
I wanted to put this urban legend to the test for you to see if it works. Granted, it's said that "most" manufacturers have this hidden option, so there's a chance it won't work for your elevator.
The DC101 studios are on the 6th floor, so I enlisted the help of Mike Jones to press all the buttons for the other floors, while I hit and held the button for the 6th floor. It was a great plan, right?
Things didn't quite go the way I planned.
