In the spirit of our Nine Inch Nails/Outside Lands giveaway this week, I wanted to try a beer from San Francisco (that's where Outside Lands is held...keep up).
This pretty little can of stout will do nicely.
Look-deep, deep brown with a finger of head on my heavy pour.
Smell-Toffee pops for me. Along with toasted malt.
Taste-Woah. This is strong. I'll get more into that in the "Mouth" portion. As far as tastes, it's actually a little watery. A bit of a coffee flavor some raisin and toasted malt.
Mouth-Very dry. Bitter. Full bodied. Almost viscose in the mouth. STRONG.
Overall-With a grain of salt, I'll tell you that this isn't a favorite of mine. I say that as someone who likes a particular kind of stout. If you are a stout lover, definitely track it down and try it. For me, it has too many qualities that don't do it for me (dry, bitter, strong coffee flavor).
