I had this at Gilly's with lunch. No expectations. Just something with (relatively) low ABV.

Look- deep copper with 1/2 finger of foam. Poured from a tap.

Smell-Maybe it's because it's from the tap, but I can't smell anything. Not a good sign.

Taste-very Belgian. Or what I thought Belgian tasted like...before I liked them. Wheat and clove if you are looking for specifics.

Mouth-Bitter in the mouth. Boozy on the swallow and medium bodied.
Overall-I don't know why I keep going back to Weyerbacher when I clearly don't like a lot of their beers. That's nothing against the brewery...just personal preference.
About Slam Dunkel:

Slam Dunkel was a small batch release in 2007. We had such an overwhelming response that we had to put it in the seasonal rotation. We also decided we couldn’t live without drinking this beer every year!

This 7% Double Dunkelweizen is unfiltered and made with over 50% wheat malt along with pale, munich, and a touch of chocolate to give it the traditional color and flavor. Bitterness is subdued to allow the Weihenstephen yeast to shine through with those traditional notes of banana and clove.
