It took three months, but I've finally exhausted my supply of Pumpkin and Oktoberfest beers.

Bring on the winter ales!

Look-Hazy gold in color. Ring of foam.

Smell-Bread. Yeast. Barley? My palette still has trouble recognizing barley and malt (I know, my palette sucks).

Taste-Very bready throughout...especially on the lips and swallow. Crisp and yeasty as well.

Moutfeel-light bodied.

Overall-If you've read this blog faithfully, you know that I'm not a huge Starr Hill guy. I like their Jomo Lager but not much else. This is not bad though. Crisp with good flavor. Not sure I'd seek it out, but I wouldn't be unhappy if handed one.

About The Gift:

A German-style Hellerbock with a few twists, The Gift is Starr Hill’s holiday offering. The beautiful golden color only hints at the fire inside. Made with two-row and Munich malts and balanced with German noble hops, The Gift is the perfect accompaniment to any holiday event or festivity.
