I'm a little nervous about this one. Despite the "experts" constantly telling us that the best beers are in Belgium, I'm not particularly fond of the classic "Belgian beer".
This is a critically acclaimed Belgian beer.
Look-a cloudy deep amber color. A ring of foam.
Smell-Tangy with hints of a tart fruit.
Taste-No flavor at all on the lips. I can definitely tell this is a strong brew.
Mouth-Surprisingly light bodied for a beer with a high ABV. Dry with the taste of alcohol in the swallow (boo) and a fruity aftertaste.
Overall-Still not a favorite style of mine. Not a lot of flavor here...which in this case, I like since I'm not a fan of the flavor of this style. Still, for such a high ABV (10.5%), there isn't much going on here. I'll pass on this.

About Piraat Ale:
This light ambercoloured Piraat with full foam head overwhelms with an aroma of bitter, spicy, malty and alcoholic scents. What follows is a perfect combination of malty, sweet and hopbitter tastes, after which you are drowned in a very long, semi-sweet after taste with bitter undertone.
