This was one of the top suggested pumpkin ales but I couldn't find it...until now!

Was she worth the wait?

Let's find out.

Smell-Delicious spicy pumpkin pie like aroma.

Taste-Pumpkin mash on the lips that gives way nicely to a spicy mix that includes cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish is the only thing that (slightly) disappoints as it is a bit tart.

UPDATE: As it warms, that sharp finish goes away. Yet another reason why drinking beer close to room temperature is the way to go.

Mouthfeel-Medium bodied and tingly.

Drinkability-A very good pumpkin. It's not as rich as the Southern Tier but that's a good thing in my book. It's more drinkable since it doesn't feel like a dessert. If you are looking for a blend between the two styles of pumpkin ales, this is your beer. Very good...but not great. I still like the Dogfish Head Punkin better.

About Schlafly Pumpkin Ale:

Our Pumpkin Ale blends the spices of the harvest with full-bodied sweetness for a beer that tastes like pumpkin pie. Pounds of pumpkin form a malty foundation that supports the fall flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.
