Let's face it, chivalry is dead. We live in a society where morals are questionable at best and promiscuity is glorified as an attainable ideal...or maybe I've just been watching too much cable television. But I think everyone else is as well, and here lies the problem. Men see the reinforcement of the “nice guys finish last” mentality, while simultaneously being taught that they deserve to be with statuesque beauties. Women, on the other hand, become drawn to the over-dramatized “bad boy” types, but expect that they are the star of the show, the “game changers” who will be treated like queens despite choosing street urchins.

Think about the show The Bachelorette. Thats supposed to be a scenario that women at home watch and think romantic thoughts about and wonder why they don't have the same magic in their lives. I don't know, its probably because you have a job and aren't dating 30 GUYS AT ONCE that were handpicked for you by producers. Everyone is looking for an easy fix, and they sacrifice the real magic of life for cheap substitutes. Its like going from Houdini to one of those “Become a Magician” kits you see on infomercials.

The other day a guy used a pick up line on me that was essentially “Hey girl. I would totally stalk you. Can I have some of your Mountain Dew?”. I repeat again: chivalry is dead.

But you know what, I'm ok with that....

Because what our generation has lost in class, we make up for in STYLE. Wave goodbye to political correctness and opening doors, and say hello to skinny jeans and apathy and CHOREOGRAPHED DANCE. Men, take notes.
