Great second day for me at Rock on the Range, stayed quite busy!
First off I had a chance to catch up with Gavin Rossdale backstage. We discussed the new music Bush is making, how a concert turned ugly on them the other night and always playing the bad guy on film!
Check out our conversation:
Gavin was great, but wait, there's more! Our friends Dan and Tony from Beware of Darkness came over to chat for a few minutes as well, letting me know about playing for Conan, finally having the record Orthodox out and they almost kind of sort of told me what's next!
Here is that chat!
It was a great weekend at Rock on the Range, thank you everyone who I got to meet and have a blast with!!!
I had a great time running around and taking photos of everything at Rock on the Range, please check out my first day shots by clicking here and going to them!
Just a sample, from our friends Papa Roach.
Also I had a chance to chat for a few minutes with Jim Florentine!
Jim is getting ready for the 12th season of That Metal Show plus he was doing stand up at Rock on the Range. Lots to discuss and I had to take an awful photo with him...
Told you it was bad... Anyhow, hear our chat!
Thank you Jim! Apologies again for my bad smile.
It happened in September of 2011. R.E.M. called it quits. Nobody expected that to be said, but it was and they did and now they're no longer.
Fans have been asking how long until they do decide to get back on stage, in the studio, to do something again as R.E.M. But it won't happen. It's not going to occur anymore because they aren't going to do it!
That's what Mike Mills said. The former R.E.M. bassist told Rolling Stone how it is and how it's going to be.
"There were no real factors other than deciding it was time to break up. There's no drug abuse. There's no in-fighting. There's no legal problems. It was time to break up. That's never really been done before.
He went on to say, "The idea of breaking up and not reforming for a reunion tour is kind of attractive to us," he added. "I doubt you'll see us touring as R.E.M. again. On the other hand, I just played with Peter in New York City the other night, so fun things do happen."
So that's how it stands, at least for now. It could change, but I wouldn't bank on it...
