1. Don't be a jerk on the phone.
2. You must know the name of the song and who it's by or be prepared to sing it.
3. No Skynyrd.
4. Thursday Night is Ladies Night. No wang allowed.
5. I have the final say over all song choices.
First it was Morrissey and now another band is taking a shot at the late Prime Minister!
Back in 2005, Chumbawumba made an EP that they said would only be released when Margaret Thatcher passed away. Sadly she did and the band has kept their word: people that pre-ordered it have been receiving their copies in the mail! It's also been released online and you can listen to all of the EP now!
They also put out a statement, a eulogy of their own:
This is a cause to celebrate, to party, to stamp the dirt down. Tomorrow we can carry on shouting and writing and working and singing and striking against the successive governments that have so clearly followed Thatcher’s Slash & Burn policies, none more so than the present lot. But for now, we can have a drink and a dance and propose a toast to the demise of someone who blighted so many people’s lives for so long.
If we must show a little reverence and decorum at this time, then so be it. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families of all Margaret Thatcher’s victims.
