This is a social bar league I joined with some friends. Our primary sport is Indoor Bar Bocce...and we're kinda good too. We change our name every season but the awesomeness of the team remains. Below are our results...

I am afraid of heights. Yes, I have heightaphobia. I am six feet tall and don't even like how tall I am. And yes, I'll go to an amusement park but do not expect me to get on any rides with you.
But I did go to Chicago recently and that place is full of tall buildings. I went up to the top of two of them and damn was it scary. The John Hancock Observatory provided a great view and I checked that out in the evening and then the next went up to the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower) and got to go out on the SkyDeck. The SkyDeck is a glass perch that rests out over Jackson Street in Chicago where anyone can feel as is they are standing out over the city. As you can see below, I went out on to the SkyDeck but I wasn't the slightest bit happy about it. Oh...and while I was taking that photo, there was a four year old jumping up and down screaming, "I'm flying I'm flying." Will I do this again, probably. But I'll be just as freaked out as I was in the picture below. I've included some other pics from my trip as well.
This is probably the most scared I have ever been in my life!!!
I totally flicked the bean!
It isn't a mystery that when you listen to me on DC101 that I have a favorite band. They would be Jimmy Eat World from Mesa, Arizona. Ever since I heard Clarity in 1999, I was hooked.
So when it was announced that their eighth studio record was coming out, I was stoked. Then I was even more stoked when I found out what the release date is. Yeah...my favorite band is releasing their long awaited eighth record on my birthday!!! Upon hearing that news, I was whatever more than stoked is.
So here's the skinny...the album is called Damage.
It will be released on June 11th. The boys were generous enough to allow you to stream the album (the link is below).
I, however, refuse to listen to it because of this reason: the album is coming out on my birthday. I'll purchase it that day and listen to it then. It will be like two presents in one.
If you would like to give it a listen, go for it. Click here.
And they have announced a tour schedule and I will be seeing them in NYC, Richmond and here in The District within a five day period.
Capital Cities were on with Conan O'Brien this past Thursday (6.6.13) and completely killed it with their performance of "Safe and Sound." Though, they were no way near as spiffy on stage for the television show as they were for the DC101 Chili Cookoff, they were still pretty awesome.
Below is the video. And if you haven't gotten their full-length record "In A Tidal Wave of Mystery" yet, go make it happen. You will not be disappointed.
I love Sophia Bush!!! Ever since her scence in Van Wilder and her amazing line when she's in Van's room. She turns around and says, "You must be Gwen. The truck driver."
Since then she's been on every magazine's top ___ list for hottest or most attractive female in the world and did an amazing turn in the show "One Tree Hill." Don't judge me! That show was awesome yo! She is currently an advocate for many worthy causes and does not in anyway shy away from letting it be known how she feels. I mean look at her...she's beautiful. Definitely on top of my top five celebrity crush list.

She is also the main female character in the video for Passion Pit's "Carried Away." The song is very upbeat but when you listen to the lyrics and watch the video, it shows the tumultuous nature of relationships. The videos is below.
Oh...and go purchase their new album, "Gossamer." You won't be disappointed.
The Icelandic Awesomeness that is Of Monsters and Men were on SNL on Saturday Night Live on 5.4.2013. They were absolutely fabulous and totally were every bit of "Icelandic Awesomeness." Videos of their performances are below.
Also...if you want to see them live and in person, you can do so as they'll be returning to town on Tuesday June 11th to Merriweather Post Pavillion. Oh...and June 11th happens to be my --th birthday.
