When I was a student at Franconia Elementary, Twain Intermediate and Edison High School, there were two things that I excelled at:

  1. being the awkward guy that no girl wanted to go out with
  2. not being any good at art.

I was so bad at art in fact, that the teacher wouldn't display any of my pieces with the other members of the class so I wouldn't get ridiculed for my lack of art skills. This changed, however, when my buddy Scott emailed a group of us and in an effort to surprise his wife for her birthday, he gathered a bunch of friends together where we would all hang in a painting class with an instructor, dine and drink with whatever we brought and walk away with the artwork we created.

Below, you will find the artwork from my group of friends who went out that evening. Please critique as you wish...just please, be nice. I'm fragile.

1. This was Jen the instructor's painting. This is what the finished product should look like.

2. This was mine.

3. These are Colleen's (birthday girl) and Scott's (birthday girl's husband and ringleader)

4. Kyle and Ashley's paintings are here

5. My buds Doug and Katie's artwork

6. Our buddy Ruda is on the left and some random girl is on the right. I mainly took a photo of hers for two reasons (1) the painting came out really good and (2) she was super cute and I wanted a reason to talk to her...and I totes failed to get her number.

Now I beg of you...please be gentle when critiquing my artwork. If you've never been to one of these, you have got to go. This same group is going back again and trying our hand at painting one more time. I'll get the finished artwork back up here once the paint has dried.
