BREAKING: MD Gov. Hogan Lays Out Dates for All Residents to Get Vaccines

Maryland is approaching the next phase of COVID-19 vaccines, says Larry Hogan in a news conference on Thursday.

Beginning Tuesday, March 23rd, the state will enter Phase 2A. That means all Maryland residents ages 60 and older will be eligible to get vaccinated.

A week later, on Tuesday, March 30th, the state will enter Phase 2B. That means all Maryland residents ages 16 and older with medical conditions that make them susceptible to the virus will become eligible for a vaccine.

Then, on April 13th, Maryland will enter Phase 2C, meaning all Maryland residents ages 55 and older and essential workers will be eligible for the vaccine.

Finally, on April 29th, Maryland will move to Phase 3, meaning all Marylanders ages 16 and older can get a vaccine.

Hogan admits the demand for the vaccine will likely outpace the state's supply for "several weeks." However, after meeting with the White House Coronavirus Taks Force this week, he was assured states will see a significant increase in vaccine supplies starting the week of March 29th.

Hogan also announced multiple initiatives to help distribute the vaccines as efficiently as possible, including a program to distribute the vaccines to primary care doctors with the goal of reaching vulnerable populations.
