Police in Virginia say a half-naked woman covered in mud busted through a homeowner's door in Stafford and attacked a man inside with a pitchfork.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday and the woman was placed into custody after a scuffle with responding officers.

Stafford Sheriff's Maj. Shawn Kimmitz says deputies responded to a call of a breaking and entering, and that a half-clothed, muddy woman had knocked down a door and attacked a resident.

Kimmitz says the woman stabbed the man in the arm with a pitchfork, resulting in a serious, but non-life-threatening injury. He claims she fled to a neighbor's house and attacked deputies when they arrived.

Deputies attempted the use of a taser to no effect. They eventually subdued the woman and placed her under arrest. Kimmitz says one of his deputies was treated at a hospital for injuries.

31-year-old Madison Brooke Snyder was charged with burglary with a deadly weapon, aggravated malicious wounding and three felony counts of assault on a law enforcement officer.

Snyder was also wanted on charges stemming from separate incidents reported in York County, VA and at least one other from the state of Kansas.
