A man in the UK has been charged with assault after he allegedly ripped a fart so bad the driver stopped the car and confronted him, leading him to physically attack the driver.

35-year-old James Mallett was in the back of the Uber on his way to a nightclub along with three other people who were all reportedly being disrespectful to the driver, Aleksander Bonchev.

Mallett then allegedly farted aggressively towards Bonchev, who took it as the "final straw." He promptly stopped the car and told Mallett to get out of the car. Mallett then allegedly asked Bonchev if he wanted to fight and struck Bonchev in the head. In return, Bonchev reportedly punched Mallett in the face and knocked him to the ground.

One of the other passengers convinced Mallett to leave. Shortly after, police encountered him with a "cut on his bottom lip."

The incident took place back in November 2019 and since then, Mallett admitted to assault occasioning actual harm which resulted in a six month jail term, a $650 fine and 120 hours of community service. His jail sentence was suspended for 18 months.

Unfortunately for Bonchev, one of his fingers was reportedly broken in the scuffle and he was unable to work afterwards. He then lost his gig at Uber and had to return to his home country of Bulgaria.
