Nine Inch Nails Release Two New Free Albums: 'Ghosts V' and 'Ghosts VI'

"Music - whether listening to it, thinking about it or creating it - has always been the thing that helped us get through anything - good or bad."

Nine Inch Nails have released two new albums - Ghosts V: Together and Ghosts VI: Locusts as a means of helping people through these times of social distancing.

In a statement from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross on the band's website, they say, "It made us feel better to make these and it feels good to share them. Music has always had a way of making us feel a little less alone in the world... and hopefully it does for you, too. Remember, everyone is in this thing together and this too shall pass. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Be smart and take care of each other."

Ghosts V: Together features 8 new tracks and is described by the band as "for when things seem like it might be all okay." Ghosts VI: Locusts on the other hand features 15 new songs and is described as "well... you'll figure it out." The two albums continue down the thread that Ghosts I-IV laid out in 2008, a brooding atmospheric ambient album that was almost entirely instrumental.

Nine Inch Nails are offering downloads of the two albums for free from their website NIN.com. The two will be made available on all streaming services soon.
