Thousands of Virginia Drivers Have Been Fined for Driving Too Slow

A law that was passed in 2017 in Virginia that included fines for driving too slow in the left-lane has resulted in nearly 2,000 citations.

WTOP reports that 1,951 citations were issued in a category for driving too slow in the left lane, not staying in the right lane when not passing, or crossing a double yellow line from July 1st of last year to April 3rd of 2018.

Nearly 15,000 citations were issued for other traffic-related items including driving slower than the speed of traffic when passing or making a left turn, and illegal/unsafe lane changes.
